One week ago I found a post about a jquery/asp.net mvc topic that triggered my interest and I decided to take a stab at the issue. I got a pretty decent solution after a while but soon realised I had nowhere to post my findings.
That's it! I thought. I need a blog like all other programmers. And since I had yet to deploy a ASP.NET MVC application I decided to write it myself.
To start with I made some great progress and I alsmost thought I would be able to complete it in 48h. But if you are anything like me you know that those 48 hours has a tendancy to grow a bit. There is always a bunch of new features you just got to have lurking around the corner, right?
Ofcourse there was also the daily interuptions like school and work. Wouldn't it be nice if they could go away when you have ongoing projects? Anyway, a week after I started I now have something decent running on the server.
There are some problems with broken links that you should be aware of. This site is deployed on IIS6 and unfortuanly some of my links are targeted against IIS7 routes. I hope to fix this in a few days.
What's next?
- Fix the links that are broken
- Fill upp the pages with some content
After that I will make a series of post about the different problems and solutions I faced when building this blog. Hopefully that will include some usefull information. The topic will probably be something like this:
- Architecture
- Error logging
- Validation
- Write and read operations
- Using CKEditor
- The rating system
- Deployment issues and tricks
I have not planned the order yet so the order of the list is of no signifigance.
